The Pleasure Thesis in the Eudemian Ethics

This paper argues that in the Eudemian Ethics (EE), Aristotle aims to prove Pleasure Thesis (PT). According Thesis, happiness is most pleasant thing of all. Through a reconstruction argument favor PT, this shows for three reasons: (1) it by definition; (2) constituted activities (virtuous actions and contemplation); (3) nature. A PT philosophically interesting not only order better understand EE—and particular debated status role NE VII/EE VI.11–14—but also insofar as sheds light on relation between good.
